YLE: finski preiskovalci ne zaupajo več slovenski policiji

Še vroče:

Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation (KRP) has sharply criticised the Slovenian police for their role in a bribery investigation involving the defence material manufacturer Patria. According to Finnish officers, Slovenian police leaked classified information to the public.

For months, KRP has been investigating a bribery case involving Patria and top Slovenian officials. Until recently, KRP said cooperation with Slovenian police was moving smoothly. As part of the cooperation deal, Finnish police handed over dozens of names of persons they wished to question to Slovenian officials. The questioning never happened, but the list of names was mysteriously made public in Slovenia.

On Monday the Slovenia media accused Finland of not wanting to cooperate because Finnish police refused to release more information concerning the persons on the list. Finnish officers admit they are now hesitant to provide their Slovenian counterparts with more details following the leak.

Finnish investigators say that faltering cooperation between the countries has hindered their work. Still, they say they hope their investigation will be ready by the end of the year.
